DO-363 (DO-294C) & DO-307A T-PED Testing
Frequencia tests specific recommendations for aircraft operators, aircraft manufacturers, equipment manufacturers, and maintenance service providers in how to establish an aircraft as PED tolerant and how to sustain the PED tolerance throughout the aircraft’s lifecycle.
We test against aircraft tolerance to interference from portable electronic devices including transmitting portable electronic devices.
Frequencia provides standard requirements for interference path loss and aircraft system immunity that can be used to demonstrate PED tolerance as part of aircraft certification.
We look at specific interference path loss targets for aircraft to mitigate the effects of PED spurious emissions on aircraft radio receivers. It looks into specific RF immunity requirements for aircraft systems that are exposed to PED intentional RF transmissions. For aircraft that successfully meet the recommendations in this report, aircraft operators will have high assurance that the PEDs will not interfere with aircraft systems even in critical phases of flight.
Testing is independent of class of aircraft; they can be applied to small and large airplanes, and small and large rotorcraft.
DO-160G, ABD100 & D6-36440 Qualification Testing
DO-160G covers standard procedures and environmental test criteria for testing airborne electrical and electronic equipment (avionics). The tests specified in DO-160G are typically performed to meet Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or other international regulations covering electrical or electronic equipment that is installed on commercial aircraft.
The tests and test levels/limits found in DO-160G are applicable to virtually every type of aircraft in use today, including small general aviation aircraft, business jets, helicopters, regional jets, and “Jumbo Jets” such as the newest airliners from Airbus and Boeing.
